Glycol peeling

Cosmetology

Glycolic peeling is an acid facial resurfacing performed using glycolic acid, which allows you to solve several skin problems at once in 1 course of 3-8 sessions. Glycolic peeling is a rather demanded service in the ÄSTHETIK LAB cosmetology clinic. The main advantages are affordable price and fast results.

Features of the procedure Glycolic peeling

Hydroxyacetic or glycolic acid belongs to the fruit group. It is obtained from beets, sugar cane and unripe grapes. Why is it used for peeling? Because its molecule is several times smaller than others, so it is easier for it to penetrate the epidermis.

Penetrating into the skin, the substance ensures the necrosis of old cells, stimulating the division of new ones. In the deep layers of the dermis, the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid is activated, due to which the face becomes younger, the complexion improves, wrinkles are smoothed out, and the skin becomes even and more elastic.

Types of glycolic peels

  • Surface - up to 40% acid in the composition, pH 2.4-2.5. Light skin resurfacing, removal of dead cells, healthy complexion, radiant skin, no rehabilitation required.
  • Aggressive - from 40% to 70% acid in the composition, pH not higher than 2.8. Deep cleansing, preparation is needed, there is a rehabilitation period, some discomfort during the procedure.

Indications

  • Hyperpigmentation, freckles.
  • Enlarged pores, acne.
  • Oily skin, seborrhea.
  • The first signs of aging.
  • Loss of skin elasticity.
  • Shallow stretch marks.
  • Acne and post-acne, scars.
  • Viral dermatosis.

An important feature - glycol peeling is not carried out in summer and spring, as undesirable effects in the form of pigmentation may occur under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.

Contraindications

  • Abscesses and wounds on the skin.
  • Warts, rosacea.
  • Herpes, psoriasis.
  • Recent hair removal. Diseases of the sinuses.
  • Photosensitivity
  • Telangiectasia.

Like many other procedures, acid resurfacing is not performed during pregnancy and lactation, in the presence of mental disorders, cardiovascular diseases, liver problems. The technique is not suitable for patients with very sensitive skin. As well as brunettes with dark eyes.

Important to know

Medium peeling requires preliminary preparation. At the first visit, an allergy test is required. Aggressive grinding can cause burning, tingling, and other discomfort. The rehabilitation period is about 7 days, during which a number of restrictions must be observed:

  • Do not use decorative cosmetics.
  • Use nourishing creams and masks for quick recovery.
  • Do not visit the solarium, swimming pool, gym.
  • When going outside, apply sunscreen with maximum protection.
  • Protect the skin from external irritants - wind, frost, snow, etc.

If you follow all the safety measures, glycolic acid peeling will only have a positive effect on the skin - rejuvenation, tightening, increased turgor, elimination of aesthetic defects. The number of sessions and the interval between them will be determined by the beautician, taking into account the patient's skin type.
